We will be going over our Circle of Excellence for 2024 and our guest speaker will be our governor, Christine Ross.

2/21/24 CPCU Society Meeting – 12 pm Sedona Taphouse Speaker: Chapter Governor, Christine Ross

Christine’s discussion:

High-level discussion regarding merging chapters and the various levels available to chapters        when this is considered.

CPCU Mentoring Program – Debra Bittner volunteered to be a mentor in the program.

Discussion of virtual speaker’s vs in-person speakers: greater availability of virtual speakers and   other chapters have had great success with this.  JS Held (sp?), Merleno and Assoc (sp?) are      good speakers with many topics.

INteract – CPCU website can register online and has excellent resources for chapter leaders as     well, such as webinars regarding each role.

Discussion of the StarChapter initiative – with discussion surrounding the status of KY       Bluegrass actively working with StarChapter.

What is Pathways? – Once students have taken 2-4 exams for CPCU they become eligible to be    chapter members. Gamma Iota Sigma members can join free. Discussion of whether or not they could be board members, will have to consult bylaws.

*Requested she receive a copy of minutes (done 3/5 sp)

Discussed meet and greet in April networking hour to include EKU Students. Maybe Apr 10 or 11 from 4-5 pm with the society providing appetizers.

Volunteers requested for social media and photography during meetings – Shelby Fain volunteered for social media and Abigail Jones volunteered to obtain photos during chapter meetings.

Reminder that March is ethics month.

Treasurer Update, Lisa - $5906 in the bank, 990 and IRS and KY Tax filing reports complete, cost $15. $500 donation to Kiwanis London in December and $250 to Louisville chapter Women Leaders in Insurance.
